גְּבַרְתָּנִית

גְּבַרְתָּנִיתf. (v. preced.) powerful, overwhelming. Num. R. s. 7 (ref. to אָנוּש Is. 17:11, v. גָּבַר) leprosy is called a strong disease מפני שהיא מכה ג׳ (not הג׳) because it is an overpowering affliction; Lev. R. s. 18 מכִה ג׳ ומתשת an overpowering and weakening
